True Love
We recently discussed the Song of Solomon with our home group in a study entitled "True Love; does it still exist?" Many friends who don't normally attend were very interested to know what the Bible teaches about love and relationships.

Recruiting
Since the missions trip is open to believers and non-churched, it has been a perfect opportunity to meet with everybody we know one-on-one. It's been a rainy spring, it's raining in the picture and it's currently raining as I write this post.
On the day in the photo I was waiting at a café between meetings. I had just said goodbye to one friend and was waiting for another to show up while on the phone with someone else.
It was a great day, successful meetings and recruiting. Praise the Lord!

Refugee Camp in Brussels
Would you send an Atheist to church camp?
Every morning there will be a praise service to motivate the volunteers and send them out in the community with a Christian message. Then throughout the afternoon the participants are devided up into teams where Christians work alongside unsaved people to share God's love in practical ways reaching out to : handicapped, homeless, hospitalized children, elderly, and refugees...
Here's the refugee center, it looks pretty nice and Praise the Lord for places like this because the government only gives the refugee families less than 5 euros per person per week! That's pretty impossible to live off of. So our church is going go to Brussels and volunteer one week of our time to provide "summer camp" for the kids...
My friend has a heart for people. She goes to Africa once a year with humanitarian associations, and she is great with kids. She has arranged all of the children's programs for our camp. She's gathering dozens of games. She's even organized for the kids to write a book and illustrate it by the end of the week! We need her there...
Unfortunately she just finished her university studies this month and has no job. So she's not going to be able to pay the 350euros to participate in this week-long camp even though she's been the one planning it for us. I'm not really sure what we will do with out her. I am praying that someone will volunteer to pay her way.

Music that Moves your Soul
Recently we hosted a Saturday Night Home group on the theme of Music that Moves your Soul. Everyone was supposed to bring their favorite song to share, and why the song touches them. The conversation got so deep we didn't even finish listening to all of the songs people brought.We talked about salvation, what's a good reason to become a Christian?, how you know when you are a Christian, our civil responsibility to make the world a better place, the problems with international politics, humanitarian relief efforts, and many more things.
Bible Table Comments...
One guy was so surprised that the Bibles at our table were actually free, he said, "Free, really free, well there must be a God!" This clever comment made in passing, helps encourage us that doing something out of the ordinary really can make people stop and think ... and hopefuly read the Bible.
Another lady saw our sign ups for the missions trip to Brussels. She signed up immediately and gave testimony that she believes in God, she knows she's not practicing her faith faithfuly, but today she realised that God is still orchestrating her life by bringing her across our paths. By following the news she felt convicted recently that, "Every group holds marches and awareness events, even the homosexuals," she said, "But I think we as Christians need to do things too, so that's why I want to go to Brussels with you, and then maybe we can do stuff like this in Paris too!" Bringing humanitarian relief to Paris is one of our goals in taking Parisians to Brussels. We hope they catch a vision and desire to do random acts of kindness in their own community after experiencing a week of service together.

Adventures of Hillbilly Horseshoes
We hosted the first picnic of the year!!! It was a beautiful day...
It was in a park at the foot of the Eiffel tower...
I brought my hillbilly horseshoes...
We had great fun playing yard games until one of the balls got caught in the tree...
Rob went after the ball...
We built a ladder with the hillbilly horseshoes game...
And successfully knocked the ball out of the tree...
