A great friend made traditional manalas just for us! He spent all day baking them! These little men represent the children that Saint Nicholas gave generously to. On this holiday of Saint Nicholas Day we celebrate by eating manalas with hot chocolate and clementines.

Neighborhood Council
I'm enjoying neighborhood council meetings. We are discussing how to improve and preserve our neighborhood charm. Looking forward to great opportunities to mingle with neighbors.
Happy Birthday To Me !!!
For our tenth anniversary our friends bought us a gift certificate to a fancy restaurant.
So for my birthday dinner we used the free gift certificate as an excuse to get dressed up.
You know it's a nice restaurant when they have real cloth tablecloths and real cloth napkins.
Bread and butter and puffed pastry baked with cheese awaited us at our table.
In France they set the table with the fork to the left, the knife to the right, and the spoon above your plate.
Rich people set their forks upside-down so their guests see the brand name and silver quantity.
We lived it up with a starter dish and a main dish and a dessert.
Salade de saint Jacques d'Erquy, poussés d'épinards et suprêmes d'agrumes
I got the scallop salad with grapefruit, orange, and pomegranate.
Rob got the fois gras de canard, chutney de poires
Magret de canard rôti aux chasselas et purée
We both got the duck in white grape sauce with homemade mashed potatoes
For dessert I got a crumble made with quince.
Tuesdays Chill'in Around the Word
Here you go guys, you recognize your bright and shining faces!!! Aren't we a gorgeous family? I love the new furniture by the way, much more comfortable.
We had a nice dinner with chicken marinated in Dijon mustard, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a lovely cheese platter! Yum, I love cheese! We read a book every week and discuss it on Tuesday night.
Sunday Afternoon Family Dinner
"Wow, It's like a real old fashioned Sunday dinner!" This was the amazing cheese course we enjoyed including five cheeses from five different regions of France! I love cheese!
Prayer Brunch
Homemade apple cake with fresh orchard apples.
Homemade yogurt.
Fresh tomato tart straight out of the oven.
And a variety of fresh bakery breads and brioches.
